It's an improvement over Discovery, with more uniqueness and less pandering to pop radio, but the lack of strings and their overuse of synthesizers is what really drags it down, making it sound dated. Still, the concept album structure is a worthy successor to Eldorado, and it has some songs which rank up there with ELO's best.
