new Brutalism is better than this tbh

The perceived homogeneity of brutal death like this and like disgorge is kind of the magic of bdm because it isn’t true. I’ve listened to consume the forsaken over 300 times and I still feel like I discover some new little intricacy in the riffing each time. Despite that fact, most people who listen to it would agree with labeling it as one-dimensional or homogenous.

I don’t even think are are many bdm albums that sound like this one, Brodequin has pretty unique riffs and melodies for the genre.

Indeed, I don't think this band plays generic bdm at all. Anthracks explained it pretty well

That new Brutalism is rad btw

don’t get me wrong, I like this a lot and I like this band, I just don’t think it’s quite as good as some of you are claiming.

I like their previous albums a little better just cause they’re so fuckin fast lol. This is really good tho and a top-tier modern release. It probably won’t beat whatever Defeated Sanity drops in October tho. And now they have Wormed to contend with too

If there is a band capable of topping this it's DS, but it's going to take one of the best outputs to do it. This album is my current AOTY and I feel it's going to be very hard to beat it.
PS: That Brutalism album is rad indeed. They look like a bunch of kids but they are already playing top notch adult death metal. I just want them to get a good production job next time man. Them guitars sounding fuzzy and like my old half-broken amp when using palm mute, the distortion is clipping guitar tracks in crowded sections, double bass sounds like machine-gun wet diarrhea farts and some vocals sound straight from hell...... 's WC. Love that raw snare sound though!
I must repeat those kids are truly fantastic though. With good production that album could be almost on DS league.
PS: The fact that the Brutalism album can be downloaded in "High-Res" 24 bit made me spit my cereal hahaha

Brutalism comes up as a techno band of no consequence on this website. Don't see them on bandcamp either.
This album is just insane. Been listening to this back to back sometimes and can't get some of the riffs out of my head lol. Tracks 3 & 4 m/////// Tempted with a 5 but don't feel it can stick

You have to search for 'Brutalism (USA)' in sput. There are other bands called Brutalism.
This is the bandcamp link: https://comatosemusic.bandcamp.com/album/solace-in-absurdity

yeah it's not the most creative/original band name considering Brutality is fair well known. Heck, even Death was a 3 piece Black jazz band in the 70s lol

Yo that three piece Death band was/is awesome. Checked the 7" that was rediscovered later and made them reunite in 2009 (30 years later! crazy!) and it slaps

new brutalism is indeed cool thanks for putting me on it, I’ve been into really bass-y bdm lately and their new one scratches that same itch as neuropsychosis (as far as recent stuff goes)

lol yes
also agreed with Anthracks. it's easy to say bdm is samey/homogenous at first glance, because there usually aren't a lot of (or any) bells and whistles that immediately stand out to say "I'm different!" When you've heard a good amount of different bands tho, you start noticing the differences in how they all apply the bdm technique, which I think goes to show how demanding of a practice it really is and what can really be done with it. For me, that's what makes it so powerful and satisfying too I think. It's a true and brutally physical test of musicianship.
And sometimes the differences between bands aren't even subtle. Compare some brain-dead shit like Cerebral Incubation to Defeated Sanity - it's like comparing kids banging on pots and pans to Beethoven lol (slight hyperbole, yes)

"I just want them to get a good production job next time man."
i like the production job honestly. it definitely sounds more like raw is what they were going for rather than just not knowing what they were doing. especially in a world where most BDM is way way too overproduced.
