I've heard it's quite good, so I will take the time to really listen to it; even though I didn't like this one I still have hopes for NAG.

Well, so far so good. The flaming hasn't started yet.
But you guys really need to post. I'm going to keep pushing this until I get about three pages of posts. I know LoG is a bigger band than this.[/QUOTE]

Their drummer needs to get a better snare & crashes.I'm considering checking this album out,and i can listen to New American Gospel all the way through.

I like this album, I loved it when it came out, they have solid songs
I like ATPB more, with Purified and A Devil in Gods Country and Bootscraper

Great album, I think 4 stars would be more accurate for this album. This is a must have for any fans of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal.

As The Palaces Burn is alot better than this cd IMO.

I just bought this album today from a used CD store. MAN am I disapointed. I had heard so many great things about LoG and all I find in them is repetetive unoriginal crap. The vocals are not bad though.

Meh I have to say I'm a die hard LoG fan, they're definitely one of my favorites. I'll admit though their riffs are repetitive, my friends and I comment on the fact that you can always tell a LoG song when it plays because of all the palm muted drop-D triplets they have going (i.e. they do the same shit in every song, but each one manages to sound different). Vocals are amazing though, this is the best album for that. As the Palace Burns is better (can't beat Ruin), and there's no keyboard it's all played on guitar.

The guy talking in "Ashes of the Wake" is talking about the Iraq war. about killing innocent Iraqis if the looked at all suspicious and says something along the lines of "This is a new type of war". he wasnt talking really about politics. I give it 4/5, one of the best metal albums this decade for sure IMO.

I like how you guys are talking about how the "first half of the song is good and the second half sucks". I thought this was an album review not a single review. There is more to their cd than "Laid to Rest", have a listen at their self-titled song: although it has no lyrics it slays. However, I still think As the Palaces Burn is better simpy for the fact that the structure of the songs are more varied and dont follow a particular formula which Ashes of the Wake seems to boarder on.

If no one here likes Lamb of God, why do you bother posting stuff about them?

That's what these reviews are for. To share your opinions with others. It doesn't say anywhere in the rules that only positive comments are allowed.

I'm not a huge LOG fan (I hate that abbreviation but it's funny to type) but I love seeing them live and their albums are always worth a few listens. I think this band is really overrated or underrated depending on who you ask, in my opinion they're good but not great.

O btw in the song Ashes of the Wake ex Megadeth guitarist Chris Poland ownes the dudes from Lamb of God. His solo is like at the 2 minute 30 mark or so.
