and this has melodic influences, it's not all straight up brutal, look at goremageddon for that

my least favorite tracks are 5 and 6, being the most melodic.. too bad i couldn't include avenious on the recommended tracks

This album reminds me partly of early cannibal corpse (Pre-1992) and partly of 'Symphonies of Sickness' by carcass (The Album). It never lets up on the brutal guitar work and ferociously technical drums, which is a plus, because on 'The Archaic Abattoir', the band seemed to let their guard down on the second half, making it feel incomplete. One of theri most musically precise, but not quite their best.
