Review is awesome., especially the first paragraph. Weezer is such a sad story.

totally. I'll stick to scrounging around for pre 96 demos. Though I haven't heard the album version, the "Can't Stop Partyin'" on Alone: 2 was mildly entertaining. Because it was acoustic and soft and modest and cute and completely contrary to the lyrics. I'd suppose the album version is not.

i think there is something else going on with weezer that we don't know about. i think they have been playing a giant prank for the last few years, and then oneday, BAM! we are going to get another blue album.

^kinda stupid but semi-awesome if that happened.
Good review, what a tragedy the tale of Weezer is.

I agree with the review, with the exception of 'Can't Stop Partying' ... which I found to be sarcastically depressed, a la 'Tired of Sex'. That was conveyed better in the demo, though, this 'remix' thing loses that appeal.

I really don't get how the lead single sets people up for disappointment. It's almost as bad as Beverly Hills.

I think I might just agree with everything in this review, except that I hate The Girl Got Hot and Put Me Back Together.

Shhhh… do you hear that? If you listen carefully, you can just make it out: a thousand Weezer fans, Pinkerton vinyl in hand, hopes once again elevated by a catchy, marvelous lead single, shouting GOD FUCKING DAMMIT at another cockshit album from Rivers Cuomo.

lol'd pretty hard. Great review.
