I'd recommend you The Crane Wife first, if you want to get a better idea of all the sides of their sound. This one might actually be their most immediately rewarding as someone pointed out, but it's somewhat unrepresentative.

afoolonahill: if you liked this I recommend that you also try The King Is Dead. In due time, check out their past discography, especially The Crane Wife, The Hazards Of Love, and Picaresque...I have to warn you though, they are far more theatrical/progressive.

And testosterone, let me know what you think when you're all done. Lots of people think the second half is weak - and I'll admit I agreed for a while - but now I think it holds up just fine. Still not quite to par with the first half, but not a detriment by any means. Every time I listen to this album I go all the way through, not skipping any tracks.

@sowingseason I thought that the second half was good. It was not as good as the first half tho. I thought 12-17-12 and the closing track were great.
