Meh. I would give it a 3 out of 5. It has some very cool songs on it, but I would give it a listen before I bought it.

not a bad cd, has some good, solid tracks like Momma Sed, Trekka, Dozo and Undertaker

It's no tool or APC, but thats exactly what Maynard said he didnt want it to sound like

An album titled V is for Vagina with a song that is about boners can't be taken too seriously.

Nothing like APC or Tool but that's obvious, it would be a waste of his time to recreate what he's already done. I know it isn't right to compare, but I do anyhow.

The albums certainly not as artistic or thought provoking as any of Maynard's releases in the past. I hated Puscifer at first. I was so frustrated with it because it's so different and doesn't even fall under the rock genre. Just not what I thought when I bought it. The album just didn't do anything for me but I gave it a second listen and now I like it. It's really catchy and very sexy. It's not what I would have expected from the lead of Tool but i'm sure it's refreshing for him to break away from the norm.

It isn't what i'd call a work of art or anything but it's a good album to just put on when you want to relax but then again I am a huge Maynard fan and probably a little biased so see for yourself.

But yeah listen to some tracks before you buy it even if you are a die hard APC or Tool fan. This Message Edited On 04.03.08

I found this to be a solid effort. You can tell it has some influences from the APC sound, but is very buried in the overall dark industrial/almost tribal sounds of most of the songs, Mama Sed being the most guilty of this. Maynard also seems to be focusing on his lower ranges as well giving his singing a different sound than usual.

Being a fan of APC as well as Tool, Puscifer has its place in Maynard's work. Not quite classic like other signature Maynard works, but something different and catchy, I found it a nice listen. Seems the kind of music you want when you are in a particularly serene or detatched mood.

This is a horrible effort. You can by all the songs bout the boners! It just isn't musically sound with me, and it's way to creepy to get into my listening system.

Maynard sounds better even when he's not trying. He can do much better, Tool Albums show it, Mer De Norms showed it, etc.

this is so bad. it wouldn't be as inbearable if there was more singing instead of lame talking/barely singing.

If you don't go in giving it a "new Tool Album" expectation and take it for what it is. A lounge, experimental piece of work its not that bad. I think he just kinda took a creative cleansing of his brain and threw it together for fun. Its not terrible it's just what it was meant to be.
