Haven't spun this in a while, need to do so again. Didn't care for it much the first couple of listens but I kept coming back to it and it really grew on me. And this is very true:
The last 3 tracks on this album are absolutely brilliant

Unearth is quite possibly the best metalcore act out there and have done metalcore right since its conception.

Agree, Unearth are the kings of metalcore atm, but these guys have a decidedly different take on it, and it's a damn good one.

this album surprised the hell outta me. i really havent been a fan of Misery Signals, but i really enjoy this cd. I find it somewhat similar to the newest Shai Hulud album, and even though i find that album better, this is definitely one of the top metalcore albums of the year. which, excluding the heaven shall burn cd(that was this year right?), isnt saying much but still. Great album, no question, and a good review too.
But one thing bugs me: breakdowns. What's the point of them???!!! They're all the same. Every time there's a breakdown I'm just waiting for the song to start again. I guess they're good in a live setting because it gets the crowd going but on a studio album I don't really see what they add to the songs (apart from running length haha).
Anyone beg to differ?

Breakdowns bring the balls. They break your neck. They make you move. They punch kids in the face and tell them to pass it on. They set us apart. They blowout subs. They may even make you shit your pants. Other than that...they might bring upon epileptic fits, several trips to the hospital, unfettered rage that turns into a wretched hangover, goosebumps, slamdancing into one who is bigger than you which leads to an assbeating that leaves you motionless and excited that you did in fact experience the "break down". Those are just my thoughts though.

I just saw the video for A Certain Death and I never knew Karl to be a such a bro. Dude looks pretty tough and when the chorus comes in it's pretty hilarious. Song rules as does the album. Up to 4.
