Had to definitely give this one a five. This record sounds good. Production is just enough and these are great songs performed by an equally great band. Townshend is a master songwriter. And to think this is just part of a bigger project that contained many more good songs. The bonus cuts here are stellar as well.

One of the finest examples of British rock music ever.Every song is a winner, from the fantastically different Baba O'Reilly through to the calm touching lyrics of Behind Blue Eyes and finishing with the frankly explosive Wont Get Fooled Again this is the reason why The Who were the biggest rock band of the 1960's (Besides The Beatles of course) and still provide immense inspiration for a lot of up and comin acts to this very day

^They have a way of doing that. You'll see, you'll be changing your user name to Pete somethin' or another before you know it :p

Great review, decent album. Some songs are amazing some are just boring. I'm not the biggest Who fan though.
I'll take Live At Leeds for a Who album over this one any day.

^Spoken like a true Crazy Horse fan. :p So, what is your verdict on the new Young album?

I don't think I'd call a single song on here boring. Even the less stand-out tracks like The Song Is Over are still amazing (that one particularly with Daltrey's soaring vocals). This album is flawless.

Haha I know, I know I have wierd tastes. I'm diggin' Neil's new album. Some songs are pretty "iffy" (Living With War) but some songs are awesome like Restless Consumer and Shock and Awe. I still have to listen to it a bit more though.
Have you heard it?
Never mind. You did a review on it. Yeah I'd give it a 4/5-4.5/5This Message Edited On 05.12.06

^Yeah, my favorite cut is Looking For A Leader thus far. I also enjoy Let's Impeach The President and Roger And Out, Shock And Awe, and After The Garden. The whole thing is just very bold and affecting.
And yeah, my Crazy Horse quip, lol. Leeds is definitely a Crazy Horse fans Who album, all distorted guitars and dirty aggression...They broke the mold when that band was created.

Oooh Roger And Out is also a really good tune, especially one to end the album (well second last song on the album) Pretty solemn.
Yeah I prefer the raw live Who.

How is you name Entwistle and yet you somehow fail to give an all time great a 5/5?

For those of you who are old-school vinyl junkies like me, pick up a German or Japan pressing of this on Polydor. The Old Decca pressings are extremely poor, and MCA could have used sandpaper with better results. CD's I've heard of this are very poorly mastered - you can hear Ox play a gang of bass on the LP!
Entwhistle - don't apologize so much for the VCS3 solos (ambient stuff) - "Who's Next" paved the way for ELP, Yes, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Van Halen, U2, etc., etc, to add synth to rock without turning it into campy pop.
Nice review of all-time classic album.
