first two songs suck so hard but since then its been surprisingly decent, on the 5th song.

Excellent review Poet, hopefully you'll still be sticking around. I have a hard time believing that this is any good but I may listen because I haven't heard a new power metal album in a while.

tracks to 3-5 are surprisingly pretty good. The rest sucks though. Still, despite what my rating
indicates this was surprisingly better than I expected, definitely better than their last 2 albums.

Instead of an average Dragonforce album, they made an average power metal album. It does nothing different in comparison to the other smaller power metal bands.

Nothing to get excited about really.

Power Metal has always been hit or miss for me (SHOCKING I KNOW!!!) and when the band that got me into

the genre seven years ago completely switches gears on an album that was almost four years in making,

I get excited about it. I have said it multiple times that 90% of this genre sucks big monkey balls

and the other 10% does something to get it right.



I just love trolling this site with my undying love for power metal most of the time. This is actually

not one of those times though.

This wasn't as bad as the band's other albums. Not only were the vocals better, but even the music seemed to be less cheesy. In general though I still couldn't fight through it.

This sounds much better than previous Dragonforce

Power Metal is not my favorite metal. Dragonforce was a joke and I have lost all interest in them. (Much Like Disturbed, In Flames, COB).... They apparently had some changeup in the band and guess what?

It doesn't totally suck! I will still never listen to them, but Wings of Liberty and Give Me the Night had a few brief moments where I enjoyed the bass. The singer is an improvement, which isn't saying much but still.
(I no longer loathe DragonForce)

I'm actually kind of interested in this, probably will give it a listen as I haven't really enjoyed a new power metal album since 2009. Sounds way more like a 3 than a 4 at this point though.
