This was alright but more than anything it just made me want to put on Songs of Moors and Misty Fields.

I had really high hopes for this, and while it has some great moments throughout I felt the same way after a couple listens. It's a step in the right direction from their previous The Turn of the Tides, but didn't really hook me in like their early stuff (notably Songs through Weiland). I do love that album artwork though

Had mixed feelings at first but it's grown on me significantly and I love it now. "A Lucid Tower" is probably my favorite track here as well as "Moonrise" since it sounds straight off of Weiland. I quite enjoy how there's a bit of everything from their previous efforts here.

I should probably bump my rating for Songs of Moors & Misty Fields. I have both at a 4.5, but that one is just magical.

Getting some Borknagar-type vibes off this in places, but overall I think it's a bit too folky for me.

Revisiting this, it's really sweet. Great atmosphere and then the closing title track slaps hard.

The break 3 minutes into "The Wild Swans" might actually be the most hypnotic moment in all of Empyrium discog oml
IDK this might be my favorite Empyrium album???

Yeah, this album took a while to really hit me but it has tremendous atmosphere, the kind of feel a lot of albums of this ilk aim for but don't quite achieve.

I think it's just an extremely patient album. It trawls along at a mostly slow to mid pace and does rely on bombast. It's honestly a good nap time album lol

The riffs on the t/t sweet lord.
IDK why but few bands make me as generally happy as Empyrium do
