yeah i do think sans pale iris here, if i were to axe any other song itd be slow sour bleed, but im not huge on what theyre integrating in general. not my preferred shade of the band. i def like that song more than pale iris tho

agreed on slow sour bleed but luckily its perfectly placed in the tracklist. by that point of the tracklist you kinda need a curveball and slow sour bleed is certainly that.
i'd say overall the closer is my least fave track. just kind of a nothingburger to me idk.

i love the closer lol. cemented itself pretty early as my 2nd fav here. love the house of glass vibes all over that track
and yeah i agree slow sour bleed at least pops up at the right moment

may have to give it an isolated listen or two. might just be pale iris's mid-ness bleeding into it lol.
i do think pale iris has a great chorus tbh, everything surrounding it is just kinda trite tho by erra standards.

yeah i think pale iris isn't doing it any favors. blue reverie woulda been a way better penultimate imo

i guess we gotta see where the dust settles with this lol but neon generally seems regarded as their worst, and im guessing the band doesn't help this by also frequently saying it's their worst (i agree with them though)

Big pos - superb review.
I really enjoy the theory angle you take at points to explain how some things work and others don't. There are many albums that I'd severely underappreciated because I hadn't taken the time to thoroughly analyze the compositions. Great album.

thank you! : ) yeah i'm a crazy ass nerd with perfect pitch so i see this whole goddamn world in scale degrees lmao so im glad people are getting something out of that angle in particular
on that note, a sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight part of me wishes they tried this whole new vibey shade of erra in their signature drop a flat tuning moments of clarity onward, but i am justifying that in my mind with remnant being the best send off they could have given it

Ok I'll entertain your stupidity for a second, in what stratosphere is Neon better than Drift

@bubs
Is it better or worse than being a crazy ass nerd that most certainly does not have perfect pitch? My world is based on rhythm and I need the in-depth analysis to function properly.
Always here for the remnant worship m/

speaking of "remnant", which has a whole ass polyphia section in the middle... i also feel like the intro riff of "wave" sounds exactly like something polyphia would've written in like 2015. it fits so well with erra's base sound they should do it more often.

as a self-proclaimed polyphia worshipper I don't really hear polyphia in wave... hear it most in remnant and eidolan
