Damn man, this was an awesome review. I've heard plenty of Floyd but I don't think I've ever heard anything from this album (unless some of its songs are on their live album, Pulse).

Yeah you should check this out Willie, I don't think there's anything on Pulse from this.
you should have your real name show up because it's so ****ing awesome.

I've been thinking about it, but then again, rasputin is a pretty cool name anyway. Maybe I'll do it once I reach 100.

Thanks for the comments guys

Thanks a lot man, as cool as it would be, I'll still be here doing reviews so it doesn't really make much of a difference.

they are the icing on the cake to what is a fantastic concept; the world may be descending into madness, but if we all showed a little love and care for our fellow man, such an austere perspective of capitalism would not be needed.

Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So tell me why you aren't staff yet? Not only have you captured the essence of what this album is about musically and lyrically, you have also wasted your time in writing such a profoundly moving review that will just go over the heads of about 95% of the kids on this site hahahahaha jk. No joke, this is one of the greatest reviews ever written on this site and I don't say that lightly. We need a hall of reviews that can be put on display for reviews like this.

Album is one of the greatest of all time!

Thanks a lot wizard, I stayed up half the night writing this, but once I got going it was really easy because I knew the album so well. I think it's the best one I've done, but that isn't really saying much.
And yeah kygermo, I really wanted to tie it in with recent political happenings, to sort of prove the point that this album's significance is still apparent. Worked out well, I think :D

i was breezing through this review again and noticed a mistake you might want to fix. "The Iraq War" should be either "The War in Iraq" or "The Iraqi War."This Message Edited On 01.02.09

'The Iraq War' is actually the correct term, much like 'The Gulf War' or 'The Iran-Iraq War'.

really? huh. well it reads weird. i'd still suggest The War in Iraq but i guess it doesn't really matter

Just look at it as a separate noun and not a part of the sentence's flow. But yeah, no big deal really.

yeah it's mainly just the way i'm reading the sentence more than anything. no biggie. this album got me into pink floyd, and progressive music as a whole really

Hey brother man, cool review! Isn't it cool to spew disdane along with Waters and crew? My favorite lyric is "you fucked up old hag" . . man I can really dig that. But, on my reconstituted version of the remastered, readulterated, copiously translated CD copy, this lyric does not ring out as it did in the original vinyl version. Bummer. Can anyone tell me why? Could it be the pigs at work once again? Are they fearful of all the mediocre transients that might applaude such a phrase? Ahhh the glories of censorship, but thankfully they cannot block out our mindful thoughts. Rasp, I do enthusiastically applaude your glorious command of the English language, and bask in the revelry of your in depth evaluation. Refreshing, to say the least. Thank you for a good read.
