It's definitely not metal album of the year (although it is the best metal album I've heard this month). This is definitely an extention of what made "Kill" so good, but I think it's ramped up enough to stand on its own. Besides, Kill needed more songs ;)
Alligator, how many times did you actually listen to this before you gave it a one or is that rating just based off the one random song you found yesterday?

It's obvious Alligator doesn't know anything about death metal, and this is probably the first death metal album he's ever listened to and is thinking 'oh my god it's just noise and screaming how can anybody like this it's not even music!'

I guess I'm more of a "mainstream" death metal fan; I really like these guys as well as Deicide. I've only really been exposed to the better-known bands.

If there is a death metal band I actually consistently enjoy it's Vital Remains (although I wish they'd get a more versatile singer cause Glen drags them down).

It's obvious Alligator doesn't know anything about death metal, and this is probably the first death metal album he's ever listened to and is thinking 'oh my god it's just noise and screaming how can anybody like this it's not even music!' that's 90% of everyone I know

I would say the same thing if they made their songs a little shorter. It's kind of hard to enjoy a brutal death metal song that lasts 9 or 10 minutes.

um...army of darkness sucks, i can rant for hours about why but i'll save that for a movie board...it's dreadful and i'll never understand why people like it at all...ps that comment ruined a very good review
only really heard one song from these guys and i liked it but always assumed they were a one-dimensional band...i will check this out...

I've despised everything in the past by CC (besides Kill), but damn this is a good album.

army of darkness sucked because, unlike in evil dead 2, there was no fourth wall...it was made to be a comedy and thus the cheesiness lost its effect, plus the jokes were extremely forced (see: use of groovey)...evil dead 2 took itself seriously and thats why it was so funny...
