when you turn up the sound and testcard segues immediately into horizontal hold

That's the moment I realized this album is life.

first time I heard this, I had it at full volume

the only way the album should be first experienced if I'm being honest.

you go from the quiet buzz of testcard and horizontal hold just crashes right in and fucks you up

If I listened to albums in full volume then I would have severe tinnitus by now.

It's a bit 'am dram'

The soundtrack to people prancing about in leotards whispering "don't head into the darkness mother, there's no light in the belly of the beast" while someone hits a gong wailing.

I really really enjoy the atmosphere and music here and the few "actual" songs are outstanding. I really like it but I feel a bit loony after a while which I guess is the point but it makes it a hard one to score because my head starts hurting

I'm really trying to get into post punk and experimental noise stuff, that seems to be a really interesting kind of subgenres :p

I hear quite a bit of Radiohead and Sonic Youth in this music but maybe that's just a bad ear

What a great album. Hard for me to believe that it was made in the 70's. The weakest song maybe is "Diet Of Worms" but even that song is very solid. I absolutely love post-punk music even if this album sounds very different from the usual post-punk music.

But I love most of them, the experimental ones and the more atmospheric ones of the early 80's.
