Saw them live last night. Pretty standard gig, no crowd interaction, no encore and didn't play as much off Attack on Memory as I hoped for. Not the best live act but solid enough.

The mastering on this is incredibly bad, though that's kind of the norm for Cloud Nothings. I don't see how someone with ears could listen to this and be like, "yeah, that's how I want it to sound - like total garbage".

Certainly not awful, but can't hold a candle to Attack On Memory or Here And Nowhere Else. I love absolutely everything about those albums to the noise/fuzz, low production value, instrumental breakdowns, constantly increasing intensity etc. This just feels kinda generic and really offers little about what I loved about the previous two. Can't fault them for wanting to change things up, but this just doesn't do a lot for me.

Revisted this one today, as well as Here & Nowhere else. Internal World and Modern Act are decent enough tunes in a vacuum, but when backed up against their first two albums it’s easy to see why this doesn’t please the people who already liked this band. When I get around to rating this, it’s a hard 3.5.
I think it’s better than the Japandroids release that came out the same weekend.

I think this album is really underrated. It's grown on me hard over the years, and I love how it's the plodding album in their discography. Some very thoughtful stuff in here that plays beautifully with their other albums on shuffle together.

I honestly enjoy this more than Attack On Memory, no lie. It's got this perfect mix of sugar sweet melody and raw vocals.
