Only listened to a couple of tracks off of this, but from them alone I can tell this is better than Node. Node was excellent, but some of the tracks were really forgettable, no matter how many times I listened through it all the songs blended into one another and I struggled to tell them apart, and towards the end of the album I found myself checking my phone more and more. This album however, seems to be an improvement. Predicting a 4.5 from me

I actually prefer the Marcus era but they're basically equal.

Edit: Actually fuck that just gave Node another spin and it kicks the shit out of Singularity, sorry not sorry.

Album's sitting weird for me, some days it goes up in enjoyment and other days it goes down.

My rating's probably gonna stay the same though.

Well, it's about what I expected from these guys. It's not bad, but it's safe. I think it goes without saying that these guys took a huge step down in quality after Adrian left.

Yea, after Adrian left they became lazy and started focusing on the atmosphere

I'm okay with atmosphere, but they need better cleans and lyrics to go along with it.

Nah they just need to write a song that isn't full of boring ass riffs and lyrics that try way too hard

There are some good songs on here, but yeah, it tries to hard with the lyrics. They can do the atmosphere well, but they just play too safe too often. And yes, more interesting riffs would be nice as well.

why is it that every metalcore band to come out of this decade has to be hilariously soft?

To be fair, I think Rise has helped lead the genre in that direction for a lot longer than just this decade. It feels like the whole scene is having some weird identity crisis. The sad thing about Northlane is that Invent/Animate are doing the Northlane sound better than they are.

Jeez this is boring. Every time something slightly interesting happens, it turns into some shitty chug section or a shitty chorus.

I thought the Paragon track would be good since its dedicated to Tom. Shit ended up being the most boring track.
