I mean idk they're a bit nasally and sorta out of tune but like

That's just most metalcore cleans for ya lol

I get it tho, they're certainly not defensible. Need more Howard Jones style cleans TBH

Man. Howard Jones being the frontman for Protest the Hero would have been fun.

Yeah woo. I only listened to this band between 05-09 and there was no softer songs with clean vox on those 3 albums

I don't mind the cleans they remind me of Oceans called OCEANS (DEU) on here which I dug The Sun and the Cold

Definitely not their best in 17 years (Godless Prophets was way more consistent + Human Romance is disgustingly underrated) but still absolutely rips. Not too sure how I feel about the cleans on here. They're not *bad* but not what I'd consider a high point either. Good album, good review.

The cleans are serviceable, they sound basically the same way they did on deliver us… the choruses just feel so phoned in and pointless in the context of most of the songs they’re in

Deliver Us cleans still had a rough edge on them though, a lot of them here are pure singing. They aren't awful, just not what I want from this band, and I don't think they add anything. All the choruses are just weak.

Ok granted maybe I'm not the right person to be speaking on vocals but I don't see the problem other than that maybe the singing here is a little imperfect, but I mean I'd never hail old Sonny Moore as a technically great vocalist but I felt everything he was saying on the first 2 FFTL albums because he gave it everything he had

I kinda apply that same thing here - if I like how they sound, missing a note or two isn't a big deal
