I must've owned this album for maybe 6 years now, and it still pleasantly surprises me when I hear it. Skin and Atmosphere is (imo) the best song they've ever done.
EDIT: or Installing the Catheter. Both are wonderful.

So many fuckin' jams on this. Destroy the Map showed up on random today in the car and I ended up spinning the whole thing.
At the End of August, The Heart and the Shape, Bloodwork, DTM, Waterhaul...holy fuck its so good. Takes me back to High School hard.

Yeah this is one of the most nostalgic nu-metal records for me. Kenai and Catheter slap so fucking hard.

At The End Of August is one of the weaker songs for me. There's much better stuff on here.

Is it just me or does BFMV’s Tears Don’t Fall bear a decent similarity to Skin and Atmosphere off this. I can’t help but hear that song in my head every time

Hell yeah my guy! I’ve only known At The End of August for the better part of 10 years and I just finally got around to spinning this a couple times today at the gym. Man, I was missing out.

I always got a real Blink 182 vibe from the second verse in Destroy The Map

A little bit yeah. That guest vocalist nailed DTM. No idea who it is, but it worked beautifully, and Brock's screams sounded vicious next to him.

Man, what a blast from the last. I remember showing up at the store to buy this on day 1 if it’s release and jamming it for 3 or 4 weeks straight. The first album in retrospect was just run of the mill nu metal with glassjaw worshipping vocals. This one though, I can come back to every couple of years and still really enjoy songs like Waterhaul, Installing the Catheter, Destroy the Map, or The Heart and the Shape.
Much better execution of the vocal style, top notch production, great energy, and the way it straddles nu metal and post hardcore on this one, and unfortunately they never replicated it again. Glad that everything came together for them on this album though, because it’s really standing the test of time a lot better than I thought it would.
