The underrated album from the Death catalog. The band got more technical with this release and strayed away from traditional death metal lyrics. It riffs harder than Leprosy, but it's not on Human's level.
Bill Andrews was no slouch on this album. He may not be the most technical drummer but he stepped up here. His fills are excellent and the footwork is strong.
Terry does his job following the guitar. He's not mixed high and only pops out certain times such as on Low Life.
The highlight of this album are the guitar solos. Death's best guitar solos are on this album. James Murphy and Chuck were the perfect team. Excellent trade-off solos, better than any other Death album. Specific tracks for the solos are Low Life, Killing Spree, and Within The Mind.
Chuck's vocals and screams on this album are top notch. Equally as good as Scream Bloody Gore.
This album is overlooked and should not be passed up by any Death Metal fan. I would place this over Leprosy and Individual Thought Patterns.
