I want to listen to the new one but Knocked Loose is on repeat for the next few days. Let us know if it's better than this

Phew.... god damn that closer was absolutely furious. Feels like I just got off a roller coaster. Too early to say if it's better than NEIG but it's 100% not a step backward. Probably gonna spend all day tomorrow rotating between this and new KL.

new album is definitely their best so far and all the heavier parts go harder than anticipated but i still kinda dont think chris's hook game is all that strong. so far it's lost my interest nearly every time he's started singing lol but everything else has been great

slapping a 3.5 on it for now but drop tracks 4/5 and id maybe bump it

the depths i roam and the opening duo are my early highlights prob. closer is also pretty dope

track 4 was definitely the weakest for me on first listen, but their super melodic alt metal type tracks always grow on me so fast so I won’t be surprised if I end up loving it after a few more spins.

still going through my first listen, but i liked track 4 quite a bit just because of the variety it added

i am a bit disappointed in some of the non-singles choruses as i thought these guys were completely past their Rise genicore days. but the singles clearly show they are capable of writing interesting choruses and Chris is able to pull them off vocally. just wish they would have included more of the Pure like Porcelain style instead of forcing a clean chorus into every track

definitely their best LP though. take out to Know is to Die and tweak the cleans on Everything that Once and the closer (or take them out completely) and this would easily be a 4 imo

"just wish they would have stayed included more of the Pure like Porcelain style instead of forcing a clean chorus into every track"

damn this killed any casual interest i had in checking out the new one. I get so sick of this trend

"every" track was a bit of an exaggeration, Gmember. check Angels weep, paradigm trigger, and shepherd's crown. those three bring the uninterrupted heavy

^^ yeah those three tracks are almost completely free of cleans. The Shepherd’s Crown is one of my favs of the non singles.

after 5 listens or so those three tracks, kintsugi, dissociative being and depths of roam are my favs

lol I really like The Depths I Roam but when I hear Chris sing “the depths I roam, where the gardens never grow” it just makes me think about that old kids song “down by the bay, where the watermelons grow, back to my home, I dare not go”

New one is definitely solid, listened to it like twice last night and once again today. Probably somewhere between a 3.5 and a 4 right now.
