Album Rating: 0.3 better than Superunknown
But mostly they're both great

Agreed, but
Down on the Upside > both

Sorry Superunknown is their best as a full album.
Side A of this might be their best ‘half an album’ though

“Down on the Upside > both”
flaming hot take

Yeah superunknown is best. Everything is solid on it. Down on the upside has a few meh tracks

Definitely, also a couple of good songs still needed editing down a bit too

Superunknown's only flaw is that it's 70-odd minutes long. Every song on it is perfect, but the album is so long that it turns into a bit of a slog sometimes.

^ I agree for both Superunknown and this. I love them, but God do they sometimes feel never-ending

My favorite here along with Room a Thousand Years Wide. Perfect tracks

Alone in the office, jamming this at max volume. One of my favorite 90’s records.

Superunknown is significantly longer but has maybe a third of the ideas this album does. I still like it but it doesn't even touch Badmotorfinger imo

Disagree. Superunknown might have some “filler” but there’s only a few choice cuts on this record that compare with that album.

yeah think this has solidified itself in the top spot for me also as the years have marched on
only marginally though

This and Superunknown are neck and neck tbh.
But every track on Superunknown is a banger, this record has a couple that just can’t compare. Might be a hot take but New Damage, Searching With My Good Eye Closed, and Somewhere are worse than any track on Superunknown.
Still, incredible record. Rusty Cage, Outshined, Jesus Christ Pose, and especially Slaves and Bulldozers and Room a Thousand Years Wide are stone cold classics

Outshined might be the goated so simple but incredibly badass riff ever. I fucking love that riff.
Lookin California and feelin Minnesota
Also just extremely depressed that Chris died a couple of days before I had pit tickets to see them and Dillinger Escape Plan.
Rest easy Chris. ily

"Disagree. Superunknown might have some “filler” but there’s only a few choice cuts on this record that compare with that album."
If the lesser tracks from this album you named were on Superunknown, they'd be in the upper third of it pretty easily.
