I appreciate the honesty in that quote, at the very least.

ETID actually wrote a lot of varied individual tracks. Their albums as a whole were just always “them”. But I don’t need the wheel reinvented either lol it just would have been cool to have at least one “new” sounding song on this. But it is fantastic I mean I 4.5’d it lol. Thats just the only criticism I could provide

Yea the singing is def giving me some Sirius XM energy. At least the vocals aren't overproduced to hell

idk i thought these guys were already... maybe not "better" per se... but way more expansive and versatile than etid ever were on their last album and i think they've really continued that here

these guys just have so much more in their arsenal and i'm not ashamed to say it. like i couldn't really see jordan writing most these riffs or keith singing really any of these choruses. maybe the etid comparisons made sense with empty black but i feel like they've easily carved out their own sound at this point.

Thank you Alex, I knew I wasn't crazy lol. I like the idea of modern alt rockcore mixed with more traditional metalcore ideas. I just felt the execution here was a little lacking for me personally. I see the potential/vision tho

@Alex I didn’t bring up ETID someone else did. I was just saying ETID wrote a lot of different flavors of tracks like Moor, Thing with Feathers, etc within the context of albums that were otherwise very true to their sound. I would have appreciated a curveball track. But these all rule
