Yeah sorry I don’t like songs about teachers fucking their minor students
Like it’s not even presented as satire, empathizes with the pedo, and puts most of the blame on the girl
Sucks, they did better

When the World is Dragging You Down is deff growing tho

Yeah that song doesn’t sit well with me either
|

It does make the guy look kinda pathetic tho, not sure if it really sympathizes

Idk it focuses so much on now tempted he is and how it’s physically affecting him to resist as if you’re suppose to feel bad for the guy

sting should drop a remix, make the last line of the song "these lyrics, arent serious, you should not bang a chiiiiild" so zoomers arent offended

at least im guessing anyone offended by sting lyrics has gotta be born after 911
|

Yeah I never understood it as sympathizing with the teacher but more like exposing that game that plays in his head that makes him believe he's just the victim.
Anyway, aside from the lyrics, I just like the verse's melody a lot, that's all.

I was not born after 911, in fact I remember the day it happened vividly
I was playing with my blocks after my half-day at kindergarten

i was actually with sting when the controlled demolition began that day. he took out a pen and paper and immediately began writing a subversive song from the perspective of a terrorist. i began humming a juxtaposing pop melody and sting said "thats perfect!"

Great album, but not my fave.

Opener does the job imo, though for me the album really gets interesting with Driven to Tears.
Fave Police opener might be Message in a Bottle tho.
