Me neither but I'm willing to bet that he might have something to do with some hockey show in Canada called Coach's Corner...

I know none of those people, so they are immediately obsolete and therefore Supporting Caste is album of the month.

I am from the deep depths of Australialand. Don Cherry sounds like some sort of Fizzy Drink.

Good review minus the first sentence, which is the lamest way to introduce a punk album ever.

Ron Maclean is a Canadian legend tbh, he started off as a weatherman and became the most iconic sportscaster in the country. As someone who avidly dislikes hockey, my respect for the guy should speak volumes. He' sjust so natural and likeable and probably one of the nicest dudes I've met, which is probably why the song is so sympathetic even though it's ultimately criticising something that happened on the show. Crazy fact about Maclean is in all his radio shows, tv shows and other public appearances, the guy never writes anything down.

The song is more an attack on Don Cherry and his fascist BS I think with his constant "support the war or you're unpatriotic" crap. Apparently he made some comment about the Holocaust/WW2 that set 'Gandhi off. Seems like Maclean is a bit of a pushover to that loser.
