80s cock rock/AOR just isn't my thing, idk if I'll even bother with the new one

It's not much different than this actually. Its a must listen, if any, to shit on.

If you have this at 4 you definitely should check the new one.
Working on a write up but reading the sound off section is downright depressing.

Yeah I’m kind of lost as to how people could like this but not Impera.
I think it’s easily better actually. Meliora will always be my favorite but I’m fine with whatever they (or Tobias ig) want to do.

I 3.5 at first listen. I kinda lost enthusiasm from the ballad onwards (Yeah, I dig silly Twenties)

i'm in team loves twenties. complaining about the schtick in a ghost song... it's kind of why we are all here isn't it? i think it's pretty unique for a rock song and it's frequently in my head
after more listens, i think this album has their least throwaway songs. the only one i can see myself skipping is darkness at the heart. it doesn't have the same outstanding highs as previous albums other than hunter's moon (which feels tacked on since it was a standalone), but it's very consistent and very ghost.
kaisarion and griftwood are the two standouts for me other than the singles. my main criticism of the album is that some of the longer songs don't have enough interesting ideas to warrant the runtime

man I'm glad I'm not the only one here that just loves Hunter's Moon. It's even better live with the female background vocals.
Seriously might be my favorite Ghost song.
And yeah, I agree that aside from that track and the closer the highs arent as high. Nothing else here comes close to most of Meliora or Opus.

the interlude Dominion is a borderline Platoon main theme rip off and I laugh and like

I'm with anyone who says "Spillways" and "Griftwood" are great. Absolutely among the best Ghost songs (at least in terms of catchiness).
Still hoped for something like "Secular Haze", but maybe one day... one day!
