And I'll do it again! >:^)

This slaps imo
It's probably the most unhinged and violent sounding thing to come out of that whole recent "nu-core" movement
I get what others may not like about it though, but sometimes I just crave for some angsty batshit pissed off noise and this one does that trick better than many of its peers

Still a great album to come back to from time to time. All songs enjoyable.
I wish nu metal around 2000 was much more like this album. Nothingface - Violence is one of those exceptions I still like.
Other than those I have other metal genres I love (like doom, death, black, dsbm, prog, Meshuggah and similar bands like Textures, some industrial metal like Cyanotic's first 2 albums or Acumen Nation for example) and of course some metalcore like August Burns Red and Horse The Band for example

Huh, this one ended up making my top 10. I still agree 100% with this review, but there's something so low-stakes about this record that makes it easy to throw on when you need some angst. Could do a lot worse.

Yeah it's great at fulfilling a a fix for this kind of sound, I'm just weary of that sound and keep wanting to hear it advance. Tallah have it covered in that regard but it doesn't seem like they've got much of an influence.

Giving this a re-visit as I'm seeing them live on Saturday. The review mostly captures my thoughts on the album pretty well, it's just that I like the 'base' sound of the album a lot, hence the higher rating. Completely agree that this can be a bit one-note & homogenous. Tracks like A Twin & The Downpour hint at something more, but the former ends up being an extended interlude and the latter doesn't push things far enough.
I see this as a good, but safe & slightly cautious start for the band. They've nailed their signature sound (and it's a great sound), now they just need to do a little more with it.

So these guys' on stage aesthetic is essentially 4 roadmen and a psych ward inpatient which is pretty funny to observe making this sort of music...but they were great live.

Ah jeez I'll pretend I never heard that

Yeah...seeing four guys thrashing around with their instruments in windbreakers & hoods up in an indoor, underground, small & sweaty music venue was quite amusing.
Still bought a t-shirt though. Support the nu-metalcore revival and all that.
