what performance?
instruments are dull as shit
the drummer sounds like he's the only one who's actually trying to keep things engaging

Far from a 5, but a pretty innovative mix of (modern) noise rock and screamo, but with emphasis on the noise rock. They remind me of what eyelet do with sludge and screamo and really blur the lines between the two genres to just make heavy music.

This band is playing near me soon for $15 in some sort of brewery/distillery.

Yeah, this ain’t it. Mostly dull progressions yet somehow achieves switching between ‘safe’ uninteresting and half-baked tangents from track to track. Still all blends together because of poor clarity and pacing. It absolutely is an oppressive dirge to sit through if you want that, but all I’m getting is ‘heaviness’ and not a lot else

This is certainly intense, definitely not a 5 but it's worth a listen if you like noise torture.

Genuinely kinda surprised at the disappointment some of y'all had with this album.
It's still hitting pretty hard for me and I think there are a lot of creative ways that they keep the momentum going without sounding rote or monotonous. Oh well, different strokes I guess lol

I really don’t get it either. This is definitely a much different band than the one that made Mother of Red Light, so I get being kinda pissy there, but once you move past that… the record is fantastic.
Personally I do think I like Mother of Red Light more but I love it when a band takes a big swing and it really works for them.
