Yeah I am pretty much smitten with this and might think it's better than St Cloud

I think this is excellent (as are all of her albums) after two listens, but feel like it's a significant step down from Saint Cloud. We shall see though, Saint Cloud was a big grower.

Maybe so tbh but I love how this album flows, pacing/sequencing is fantastic

Pacing is great but could have used 1-2 songs like Bored or Ice Cold instead of some of the more forgettable slow cuts. It has a tendency to drag from Crowbar onward.

Pika the opener here is a banger wtf??? I also like this more than Saint Cloud tbh. Actually think this might be my fav since American Weekend, which says a lot cause I'm in love with her whole discog.

there's not a lot going on here for me but also I get why pika might not like the opener as it seems that bit more cutesy

this is cute but i am of the highly unpopular opinion that she should've stuck with the out in the storm sound lol. rly cool to see how much saint cloud did for her tho, selling out 1500 cap halls here now while i saw her play to like 50 ppl in 2017

This one is just so chill and "feel good" to me I can't help but love it. Helps that Katie has some of the best vocals ever in any genre of music. Love that she went more country sounding on this one too. Never thought I'd hear myself say that about country music but here we are lol.

yeah this is about as good as 'cute country' can get but it's definitely a genre with a 3 sort of ceiling for me

I feel that lol. She can never top the lo-fi indie folk greatness of American Weekend imo but this is hitting all the right spots for me.

yeah, second listen now and it is really relaxing, I can't really fault it in that way

I think this stuff may hit harder or more nostalgic if you grew up in the States? Growing up in the UK in the 90s and the closest to this would have been hearing one Sheryl Crow song on the radio like once a month. Guess it has some solo Tom Petty breeziness at times too.

might try 'American Weekend' though

I'm digging the intimate breathy vox

You ever try Cat Power's 'Moon Pix'? That's a ahrd doof 5, ultimate lo-fi female vocal folk
