scrolling through her subreddit... seems like the swifties are actually not unanimously worshipping this??? seeing lots of comments on there talking about how boring this is lmao

God DAMN is this dull. It's so homogenous and compositionally bland that it feels like any enjoyment is entirely contingent on listeners having a personal investment in Swift's public image and psyche. I genuinely think her first few albums are great, but there's so little to latch on to here.

so is this a double album or is the second part like basically bonus tracks?

Shit, it must be terrible (or conversely actually good? Idk how this works lol… assumed they’d lap up a fart in a jar!)
Only commented here because presumably this won’t be the flagged review… I think Johnny is doing one (praying this is the case now)

That's the cool part: it's what Taylor needs it to be when the dust settles. Schrodinger's cope

The bonus album is much better imo

also been seeing a lot of comments about her "reusing melodies" which i don't think is entirely true but i think speaks to the fact that even the swifties are hitting a point of oversaturation
in the last five years, taylor has released five proper albums (or six if you want to include the anthology), four entirely re-recorded albums, and at least another couple albums worth of deluxe material on top of that. combined that's easily upwards of 150 tracks.
if you're releasing music at that pace of course your audience is bound to get bored, especially when the quality starts dipping. how can they miss you if you never go away???

I'm so happy my Travvy made it to the big game

I guess I am a true Swiftie. This is not for everyone, but I am enjoying it. Very confessional but with enough sheen to keep it from getting dull. Not a classic/up there with Folklore and some earlier albums but very Taylor.

I think the the actual album is not bad... just a bit too dull for an hour and five minutes, with no real stand out tracks
The second album is a lot more Folklore and string heavy and I enjoy it much more

There's a lot of 'individually fine but collectively sleepy' going on here. I find the second half way more dull personally
So Long London is pretty great though, and so is Florida!!! if you're like me and just happy to hear Florence

The song where she says “touchdown” and calls people “blokes” is the funniest thing she’s ever written

I guess I just prefer Aaron over Jack

The second part is better - I agree there. I think she needs to work with new people next time. No more Antonoff. She has done great stuff with him - including on here - but I think she is starting to max out with this style.
