"Oh god please keep this off Metacritic the site can’t take the backlash lmao"

effectively removing our collective right to free speech in the face of some 'greater power'? Fuck that. Let it be. It's not like a legion of angry Swifties can show up, as they can't even make an account rn, lol

the independent and 'unbiased' nature of Sput is one of its saving graces

or if you must, then just use Johnny's review as it splits the difference somewhat (between Sow's and this)

I decided to take a look on Metacritic. All the staff reviews were published there. I'm not sure how Metacritic collects reviews? Is it by submission or do they scrape the sites maybe? I have no idea.

I've never seen multiple staff reviews counted on Metacritic before, but it's also very uncommon for multiple staffers to cover a Metacritic-eligible album at the time of release! No surprise to see them count different reviews for different releases separately, but I don't think any of us were expecting to see both pieces filled under the Anthology version go up (not complaining lol, but just to emphasise that all three revs were first and foremost the product of things we independently had to say -- no putting the cart before the horse with that Metacritic influx!)

I actually like it. I think it's nice to include different perspectives within the same publication.

I know other aggregates sites work off a submission system, so I'm really interested to know how Metacritic collects their reviews.

My feelings sit somewhere close to yours on this album, Johnny, but it's nice that there are multiple perspectives with very different views on the album here. 0.5 is too low and a 4.5 is too high for me score-wise. My feelings are somewhere between 2.0 and 2.5.

Folklore is great.

This is not.

I don't think I can use 0.5 for the rest of the year. I dropped it on this and J Cole and I think both instances were warranted, but it needs to be special lol
