I'm in the minority that thinks this may be their best, or at least their most successful. Still in the Asheran better tan Aenka team.
Its all valid points and its sputfate to dissect which of these 3 awesome albums is the worst.
I'll 5 it when the grumpies' dust settles.

Pretty bold way to start an album with syncopated accents like that! It can’t just be me that hears some Botch in that first track? I’ve had two listens through of this and picked up quite a bit more the second time around. One thing I really like is the production; the drums are roomy and every little nuance and ghost note is picked up. Definitely not just a spit and polish modern production job, they clearly wanted the rhythm section to pop. Standout tracks at the moment are Eleonora, Anode The perfect Soul and Cobalt Sun Necropolis.

On first listen I'm a little disappointed in the lack of really distinctive colourful sections that stick in your brain. Wonderful drum sound and performance though, cool rhythms too

Honnestly is getting better every listen. I came to love Etemen Aenka by the end of that year, but what Asheran's fans struggled was to accept the brighter, polished vibe and the lack of tighter riffs to broader concepts, builds and maybe the called "highs".
With Voidkind the more organic sound, riffs and bouncing technical transitions are back. In other words the sludge is back, for the sake of Asheran's faves. It has still a lot of sections that takes to those more post metal vibes from EA, known from bands like CoL etc
The idea of unmemorability is also a lie. It has hooks as fuck. The vocals are greater than ever and the melodic ones gives it a loooot of dynamics. I can get that its coheviness looks like its coming back to main theme etc that could give that fake feeling.
It rocks.

What’s the appeal of Asheran? Seems like a fan favorite. Seems like a juvenile and less developed version of their stuff after it, from the little bit I’ve heard. Vocals weren’t good especially.

It's very, idk, powerful. Easy to like on first listen. Etemen takes a bit more time, and this one ever moreso.

IMO this album is Asheran 2.0. Everything from that album is present, but is more polished and grand.

@GhostShelter Try the vinyl mix of Asheran. I can drop a link if you're interested. It's really a completely different experience to listen to that rather than the CD mix (which sounds pretty rough in contrast).
@SrpskiCekic It has more in common with Asheran, for sure. Though it's arguably heavier, darker, and less ethereal. I don't know if more polished, though. It is produced intentionally for it to sound organic and dense but it also has more of a "live" sound to it imo
