Review Summary: A very well, put together album made by one single person. This guy definitely has a future.

Personally, I'm not a big heavy metal fan boy or anything, but this guy got my attention after viewing his EMG Metallica challenge submission. To make it even more interesting, this is all one guy, Travis Perry. He did all of the vocals, all of the guitars, and the drums, all by himself. That alone is impressive. The guitar parts are amazing, with very fast shredding of the guitar and even some guitars solos to go with it makes the music get your attention. The drums aren't real, unfortunately, but they keep up with the beat and makes me snap my fingers saying, "Damn! That is some good music right there." Songs such as the title track "Humanicide Directive" and the instrumental "Drown" start of with a strange sound effect that makes you wonder, what's coming up? Then the shredding begins and it's immediately captivating. Other than the intense shredding, there are great guitar solos like in the song "Nibiru" that Travis does that hooks you into the song. The album itself starts off with a short instrumental piece (Exordium) and goes into an intense song (Father of Lies) that gives you chills every time you listen to it. THe last song off of the album, "Spread This Plague" has a very interesting ending to it. Just when you think the song is over, all of a sudden, more guitar comes up for one split second, making you think, is there more? But then it just stops. I don't know why, but I thought that it was kinda cool. Obviously this guy knew what he was doing when he was making this album.

Despite all the praise I'm giving the album, there are a few faults. Oddly enough, most of the songs themselves are pretty long for a first album made by a single guy, with the song "Arson," the longest song of the album, clocking in at six and a half minutes. Not saying that's a problem, but I'm not one of those people who wants to listen to over five minutes of the same thing over and over again. The music itself is very loud and the lyrics are constantly drowned out by the intense music. I like the music, but I would like to hear some vocals. Another thing that bothers me is the fact that in the songs, it's usually the same notes over and over again until the bridge and or solo starts and makes you fall asleep or focus more on what you're doing while the songs are playing, in other words, I think there needs to be more interesting parts to the songs, and the fact that some of the songs are long makes it worse. With this issue, some of the tracks can be easily forgettable. Songs, like "Entombed" and "The 2nd Hour", while although great songs, are probably the most forgettable if you're listening to the album in full. My recommendation, if you want to listen to these songs, listen to them individually.

Overall, a very well put together album by one guy. Could he have done better, yes, I believe so. But personally, I think that it's a promising debut album for this guy. I can't wait for more.
