After doing many good hooks and verses for rapper Lecrae, Andy Mineo formerly known as C Lite eventually was signed by recording label “Reach Records”. Andy put out his first mixtape “Formerly Known” which was received with positive reception. Eventually it became time for artist Andy Mineo to put out his first album entitled “Heroes For Sale”.Wash Heights artist Andy Mineo’s album is a very strong album and just short of amazing. With his mixtures of realness, and authentic writing he makes a good case as to why “Heroes For Sale” is a great album.

Andy Mineo’s single “You Will” will most likely draw comparisons to “Drake” and other artists that incorporate pop or r and b into their raps. The song is very up tempo and sets a good precedence as to what the album will be like. “The Saints” with Trip Lee and Kb has a great instrumental to it, and comes off as a anthem. Andy spits a really fast verse that go’s off on a insane section of the beat. I also like the different elements and instrumental that are included on “Heroes For Sale”. With the song “Shallow” we get a dub step beat that actually works! Not many artists can actually pull that off. In the song Andy talks about his struggles in finding the perfect woman. In regards to the subject he says “well not yet, feels like i’m looking for the loch ness. I don’t even have a prospect”.It gives you a good look into what trials the artist is going through emotionally. The song also go’s into a acoustic part towards the end, with Andys vocals riding over it. It provides a nice balance and shows you the depth and talent of the artist.

The album also provides a lot of depth as to some more of the situations that Andy is going through. The song “bitter” is one of my favorite songs on the album, just from how well I can connect to it. The song talks about not wanting to be bitter from family disconnect, or being jealous. In the first verse he says “anybody know the feeling of rejection? It feels like you got kicked in your mid section. When you feel like you simply just lost your best friend”. In the song later when talking about his dad he says “its probably because we never kicked it at a younger age I know when he’s calling but I don’t have his number saved”. It leads to a lot of honest and authentic hip hop. It compels you to be able to relate and understand what the artist is going through.”Uno Uno Seis” is also a solid track with artist Lecrae and Andy making several references to their record label. The beat is a little much but I like that Andy shouts out where he comes from. Also I like it how they both trade off verses rapping in spanish.

One of my personal favorite songs off the album is “Tug Of War” featuring Krizz Kaliko. Thats right I said it Krizz is actually on the album! Andy raps about how some aspects of his life he loves, and others he is trying to get correct. Kaliko’s haunting vocals adds a lot of greatness to this song, and gives it a great touch. Andy’s flow is at his best on this particular track, and you can tell he go’s hard. The song is about true inner struggle, a subject material that both artists are great at confessing. That being said this is a very solid album from Andy, with a stepped up production value.Just a couple of snags keep it from being truly great. The album is worthy of a listen though, I look forward to hearing more projects from Andy!

Some of this shows potential but your reviewing needs a bit of work.
