Some people will criticize Jake Mcelfresh's emotion-laden songs on love, religion and self-
doubt as too sophomoric or silly, but anyone who's ever struggled with the same things that
this album or last year's Aware talks about will find a lot to love about Front Porch Step.
Mcelfresh's words are hard hitting, poetic and even sometimes a little embarrassing (aren't
we all a little squeamish about putting our hearts on our sleeves?) but it's an album that
anyone who enjoys pop punk and emo influenced music should give a listen to.
