3.0 goodRobert Davis | July 7th 15

Honestly found this album a very mixed bag. Some songs I can't stand ("Vassalplasty", "The Odious Tides"), some I really enjoyed ("Irresistible Foe", "Controlled Burn") and others were just really strange to listen to "namely "Progeny of Pain" and "The Eagles Grasp"). I think the main flaw here is inconsistency, because some songs are really so much better than others, to the point where the actually stand out as being such. Nonetheless, it's decent for what it is but not much more. Some nice musical ideas thrown around, but by the end it leaves a little bit of underwhelming feeling, more so for those who expected this to be an excellent album.
