Recorded in 1967 but not released until 1995 due to it being "too experimental", Coconut Hotel may indeed be the most difficult album to have ever been released by Mayo Thompson, and that's saying a lot. The material is not easy on the ears, there are no vocals, no melodies and, actually, hardly any textures, but somehow it's still all absorbing. Worth a listen for the hilarious "One-Second Pieces" alone.
