This album is clearly one of the most generic and mediocre power metal albums I have heard thus far. The melodies kind of remind me of Blind Guardian and Stratovarius, but more so in the sense of making them too similar. The solos sound so freaking watered down that most of them would be easy enough for a run-of-the-mill garage band player. There's certainly nothing like the thrill rides through minor scales and the Phrygian mode that the likes of Malmsteen, Tolkki, Turilli, Loureiro, and Romeo can dish out. The vocal melodies don't feel that grating to me, but they are still so lame that even a noob like Taylor Swift could pull them off. Despite these flaws, however, the first track is pretty great, even if it sounds a bit too similar to "Mordred's Song." If Joey Vera did not produce this, I probably wouldn't have even spent the $2.12 US to give it a chance.
