Newly signed to Profound Lore, Luminous Vault does a lot of things right on Charismata. Whether you want to call them blackened industrial metal or industrial black metal is up to you, but the use of memorable, almost hooky leads, riffs, and refrains here mixed with raspy vocals and ghostly production retains the impassioned feel of black metal as well as the repetitive and cold feel of industrial metal. This is most apparent on the bookends of the EP, which manage to stay strong for their lengthy run-times despite not a whole lot actually taking place. Basically, these guys know how to do a lot with a little, and should a full-length record ever come to fruition for them, that is surely a helpful quality to have.
