A collaborative effort between some curious parts, folks from Minutemen, Deerhoof, Tera Melos, and Wilco, where everything sounds peculiarly accommodative to each of the represented bands' distinct style. Therein also lies this album's mild flaw, as it often veers stylistically to detours that mesh quite jarringly with its own previously established aesthetic. But heck, this is a get-together like no other and a rarity to see function these days, so if noisy and mathy, but low-key and despondent, is your jam, stop by this one.
