The blues are far from notes on paper; it's all about soul and nobody knows that better than Van Morrison even though it took him 37 LPs to release his first truly blues album. Most of the material consists of covers of old blues standards and Van the Man does a great job of delivering some convincing performances while he is accompanied by an array of notable musicians including Jeff Beck and Paul Jones. Great stuff.
