Shadowland is a fine specimen of European power metal with excellent musicianship which includes some impressive guitar-work and a vocal approach which is very smooth and fitting. On this LP, Nocturnal Rites have retained their influences but have increased their personal touch which has resulted in a darker and heavier album than in the past.
