3.0 good | Antonius | June 19th 21 | Self Made Man has a contemporary sound that is tough to pin down accurately. The self-produced album by the Nashville-based sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell, is made out of rootsy and swampy characteristics, with blues rock at its core. Lap steel and slide guitars are the dominating factors, while hand clapping and buzzing riffs compliment wonderfully the southern Americana sounds. Solid rhythms and lots of confidence are the two weapons that will help the duet to expand. Recommendations: "Holly Ghost Fire", "Back Down South", "Danger Angel", "Every Bird that Flies".
