3.0 good | Trifolium | April 17th 24 | Glorified Best Of, which, in my opinion, does not improve on the originals he decided to rework here. That makes this into his first disappointing full-length.

1.0 awful | eureka | December 22nd 21 | I never really cared for Gas all that much - even though I'm a big fan of ambient music,
Voigt's music often came off as overly pretentious and
drab as if to repurpose lazily-produced sample-based ambience as gallery-
worthy high art. But this, this is just a nadir in the project, and that god-awful high
frequency on every other beat is on par with parodically terrible music. I've heard rumors
that the retrospective nature of this work may suggest a finale, but
the upset that this singularly horrid disturbance causes suggests more of a "good riddance"
than a "goodbye".

1.5 very poor | ajcollins15 | December 9th 21 | For me ambient music has to satisfy two specific things. First it has to pass the ?background music? category; am I able to put it on and leave it on in the background while I do something else. In other words, is it not distracting enough to keep me from my task, but interesting enough to keep me listening. The second thing for me is that it has to be interesting enough when I actually want to ?listen to it?. Tim Hecker is the best example of nailing both of these because most of his releases have such power and subtlety to keep you interested when you actually listen, but enough simplicity to keep you not distracted when you want to work. This new Gas record really doesn?t work for either of these criteria. It?s to distracting with its repetitive techno drums, but it?s to uninteresting and slow paced for a full listen. It sits in this weird limbo, so overall I am just not a fan of it.

3.0 good | Erwann S. STAFF | December 5th 21 | In and of itself, I like the music here. However, two things absolutely destroyed my listening experience: 1) these tinnitus-inducing beats that repeated over the whole record, and, 2) the transitions between the tracks consist of fadeout and abrupt restarts which I find very meh - if you build a suite, make it sound like one. Change these two things and you've got a strong 4, but, as-is, this is jarring.
