4.5 superb | musichub | December 12th 21 | A very warm, beautiful setting of this traditional responsorial chant, this is among Victoria's most famous motets and was used as the basis of a mass composed some 20 years later. The "Alleluia" section at the end is a creative coda to the piece, very staccato and making use of a very nice inner voice suspension on the final chord.
