3.0 good | Antonius | October 30th 22 | The Light Below finds WP without Duff McKagan and Barrett Martin. Despite the replacement of the whole rhythmic section, the band's identity is not lost. The album carries the same dark and melodramaticrambiance as its predecessors, with an abundance of tasteful piano notes, expressive guitar melodies and scattered fuzzy riffs. The Light Below creates positive expectations with its opening four tracks ("The Value of Zero", "What Did You Expect", "Divine Intervention", "Stood at the Gates of Heaven"), however, after that point onwards and due to the constant mood and the perpetual slow-burning tracks, it becomes weary.
