The strongest tracks here are the ones that are written by other people, which is most of the
album. Some catchy phrases are to be found here especially on "Billy John", but the album
definitely has a plodding pace to it. Havens' exhibits his acoustic playing on original "Nobody
Left to Crown" which fits in with the vibe of the album and provides political inanities in the
lyrics about politicians needing to come good and the dire state of the world that was in vogue
back then. The instrumentation reaches a climax, with "The End" featuring full band and guitar
solo, but it's all pretty basic and that's all there is to write home about.
