This album is not as consistent as some others in his discography, but has some stellar tracks. Gringo Honeymoon is my personal favorite of his songs and has a perfect marijuana laced Texas love story sound. Dreadful Selfish Crime has all of his hallmark themes of whiskey fueled regretful crime sprees and lost love. Merry Christmas from the Family has become a concert favorite and paints the most accurate Texas Christmas story every told, directly confronting the beautiful smiling family postcards sent yearly. Solid work
