4.5 superb | Gary STAFF | September 26th 23 | Re-rated: This is an excellent viking metal album! It definitely bears some Bathory-esque traits and Demonaz's past in Immortal left a mark on this record too, but it's unique! Plus, even if we measure this album under the most strict "rules" of the viking metal categorization: this is it! This makes me want to grab an axe and fight my enemies! I daresay, songs like "Where Gods Once Rode" are genre classics!

3.5 great | Grungil | March 1st 21 | A very accessible black metal album from a founding member of one of most accessible black metal bands.
Yes, it is that accessible.

2.5 average | Fernando Alves STAFF | May 26th 18 | Generic metal, with some interesting guitar moments.

3.0 good | manosg EMERITUS | April 14th 16 | Traditional heavy metal with a strong epic flavor, interesting guitar work and good songwriting. The material is more influenced by the likes of Manowar and Bathory and has very little similarities to Immortal, while it cannot be considered as black metal by any means. Solid overall but a bit trite.

3.0 good | pencils3 | November 14th 11 | This really isn't Immortal or even black metal at all. It was never going to sound like Kylie, but neither does it resemble Quorthorn. To be honest, I don't think that it matters. This is a well executed, diverse, tuneful, well-paced generic metal album. Again, it may not enter metal history as a landmark or vital contribution to the genre, but it has enough quality to earn its place on my CD rack. Great guitars, solid drumming, and consistent vocals. Good for Demonaz. By means of celebration? A pint for me, and a cold, dead badger corpse for him to feast upon.

0.0 | Tyrael | April 25th 11 | Demonaz shows that although he can't play his guitar any more, he's still got a knack for creating amazing frigid atmospheres.

3.0 good | zaruyache | April 1st 11 | This surprisingly good. Demonaz's voice reminds a bit of Peter Tagtgren's clean voice.
Hmmm. What was I talking about? Oh yeah, Demonaz. This is no kvlt blak mehtul--hell, it's
hardly black to begin with--but that doesn't mean it isn't a highly enjoyable listen. Which
it totally is. Get it.
