Little do many people know, the mathcore band Norma Jean started off as a mediocre Deftones ripoff with much more overtly religious lyrics than they're known for now. Vocalist Josh Scogin (later known for his work in The Chariot) does his best Chino Moreno impression here, belting out awkward lines like "I'm free and I love it, I'll fight for this / I think of God and He is so great" on tracks such as "Body of God", while the rest of the band tries to recreate some rejected Adrenaline demos in the background. The musicianship is competent for what they were trying to achieve, but unfortunately this competency isn't enough to keep the EP from being a poor start to a band that would go on to do much better things.
